Xiaomi has announced the long-awaited flagship Mi 11, which was criticized even before its release due to the company’s decision to remove the charging block from the delivery box. However, it turned out that the company does not force anyone to give up charging, but only gives a choice.
In addition to the standard slimmed down configuration, customers will also be offered a set of a phone and a 55 W GaN charger, which fully charges a smartphone in 45 minutes. It is noteworthy that both versions cost the same.
This proposal, of course, only applies to the Chinese version. It’s unclear what to expect with a global release, but users in China will be able to choose whether they need charging or not. Xiaomi called it a new environmental experiment and will report the results next year.
