Google has updated the look of maps for major platforms

The look of the web version of Google Maps, as well as iOS and Android apps, has changed significantly.

The developers used a new color scheme: maps became noticeably lighter. Also, the contours of all types of roads were removed and the fonts were changed to improve the visual component. The updated maps say goodbye to elements that can impede easy navigation.

The service highlights objects of interest to the user in orange. When the map is zoomed in, individual objects can be selected to view details. This feature of its service Google is also constantly improving.

Tellingly, the new design of “Google Maps” is fully consistent with other products and services of the company. The updated maps use a new color scheme to make it easier for users to recognize objects. Each group of objects, built by man or created by nature, has its own set of shades.
